"Our son suffered a Traumatic Brain Injury when an unsecured soccer goal fell on him. It crushed his skull, and my husband had to perform CPR to keep him alive until the paramedics arrived. He was life flighted to a nearby children’s hospital and underwent multiple surgeries, spending 5 weeks there in total. He had just turned three.
While he has made so much progress, he has had to fight for every single step.
His prognosis was not very good initially. When my husband called to tell me the accident happened, he told me he didn’t know if our son would make it.
All credit to God and my sons strength and perseverance, as well as my husband's peace of mind, he is doing so well today, just doing outpatient therapy. It’s been almost two years.
We share his story in hopes that it motivates people to make sure soccer goals are secured to the ground. He wasn’t climbing on the goal, they are designed very poorly."
