"Some days you are okay. And some days you are not okay. And that is all okay.
A little over 3 years ago I became part of the TBI tribe. I wasn’t asked if I wanted to be, I didn’t have a choice, and with one step, and in one second, my whole life was changed.
I stepped into my shower with my right foot late at night after working a long day at both of my jobs, and my left foot never touched the floor. It took over a year for me to overcome the haunting sound of the crack of my head against the side of tub. Everything went black. I came to quickly, but I knew something very bad had happened.
While everything has changed in my life now, I know a few solid things from the horrific, amazing, triumphant , crazy adventure of TBI recovery. They are as follows and I hope you will find comfort in them: You can face anything. Your worst fears, things you didn’t even know could happen. God’s got this. And You. And ME. Always. I can say without any doubt, He will always show up for me. It may not feel like it, it may still be hard, painful, rough, all of it, but He does carry you through. THERE. IS ALWAYS. HOPE.
Wherever you are on your journey, be there. It’s okay. You are okay, even if you are not okay right now. There is so much hope and the best is always yet to come. But you are still okay right now, even if you are not. Much love to all my TBI fellow Warriors."
