Today I am very excited to announce that I have been asked to join the Board of Directors for the Council on Brain Injury!
When I first had my brain injury, it was a struggle just to get through each day with so many symptoms... every moment was a challenge. I never would have envisioned being where I am today. Some days are still pretty hard. But by God’s grace, I have come so far in my recovery journey, and will never take for granted being able to use my voice to help others.
CoBI's Mission
It is my honor to come alongside of CoBI and work to fulfill their mission to:
• Fund education related to brain injury;
• Conduct and support research for improved treatment; and
• Advocate for improved services.
CoBI’s board, with its community partners, is also in the process of developing a long range plan which focuses specifically on initiatives that are aimed at improving life at home and in the community at large for individuals and families affected by brain injury.
I am very passionate about this mission and greatly admire CoBI for their dedication to brain injury education, research, and advocacy. They have been such an incredible support of mine through the years and I was so surprised and grateful to be asked to join the board!
It is my honor to join this incredible organization and I want to publicly thank Joanne Finegan (President), Mj Schmidt (chair), and the other board members for extending this invitation! Very grateful for this opportunity and I am looking forward to working alongside of everyone!
