“I got my TBI in a car accident in August 2018. I missed my first semester of senior year due to being in the hospital and adjusting to being back at home. I was going to speech therapy twice a week and now only go twice a month. Some days are better than others, adjusting to living with this injury is taking some time.
One thing that was hard for me to adjust to is that I can’t do as much as I used to without getting a headache or becoming extremely tired.

Another thing that has been hard is trying to get people to understand that I still have challenges even though I look perfectly fine.
I have learned to take it one day at a time and to give myself time. With determination to graduate on time this year I worked hard to catch up with what I missed on online courses. I can proudly say that I will be graduating High School with the class of 2019.”
