I had to re-learn my entire life. | Tiffany's ABI Story

March 5, 2019 by Hope After Head Injury Leave a Comment

"My name is Tiffany. I am an anoxic brain injury survivor. In 2012, I was on life support because of blood clots. The clots kept my brain from getting enough oxygen to function. I had an anoxic brain injury as a result.

The brain injury shut my body down and I had to re-learn my entire life. I also went completely blind and lost mobility.

I did physical, speech and occupation therapy to regain functioning and muscle.

When I went completely blind, my doctors didn't think I would be able to see again. Eventually, my vision began to gradually return. Today, in 2019, I have 20/20 vision, with peripheral weakness and mobility with a few balance issues."
